This is a pretty huge big deal. In the culinary world, these are the oscars, and S3 of From The Wild has been nominated for an award. This is the kind of thing that doesn't happen to us folks up here in western Canada, but it just did. 


I got the news while in the field for S5E1 - winemaker and dear friend Tyler Harlton and I were up in the rockies cooking fish in alpine utopia. It's been highly emotional absorbing the outpouring of love [and shock] from our tight knit food community here - it feels like a team win, a community win. We're intensely grateful. 


Flights are booked for the awards ceremony in NYC, a hilarious place for FTW to be headed. We're excited to see our alumni and friends Amanda Cohen [S4E1], Kesley Lyon [S4E2], and Will Horowitz [Cook It Raw Norway, Food On The Edge] on our visit, and it will be an honour to set foot in at the James Beard Foundation event on April 27. The nomination is already a staggering win, so the results can be what they may and we'll still be proud and smiling.


In the meantime, we'll get back to work.
