Q: Do you offer private events?
A: Yes! We offer a range of private experiences including foraging walks, wild mixology sessions, field cookery camps, and game butchery. Email us for options and pricing!
Q: What’s the maximum group size?
A: It depends on the experience:
- Foraging Walks: up to 16 (32 max with split group)
- Field Cookery Camp: up to 16
- Wild Mixology & Game Butchery: up to 12
- Forest to Table: up to 24

Q: Where do these events take place?
A: Most events happen in Edmonton or at our basecamp forest kitchen site near Rochester, Alberta. Off-site events are possible—travel fees apply.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all private bookings.
Q: Can I take photos or video?
A: Please do - we encourage it! Tag us @fromthewildca if you share on social media - it's always fun to see the even through your eyes.
Q: I'm having trouble paying through your site or don’t want to use PayPal. Are there other options?
A: Yes. We accept e-transfer for most bookings. If you're having trouble with online checkout or prefer a direct option, just email us and we’ll send you the details to complete your booking manually.
Kids & Families
Q: Can I bring my child to a foraging walk?
A: Yes, kids under 6 years old may attend for free with a parent or guardian. Kids aged 6 and older require a regular booking.
Food & Beverage
Q: Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
A: We do our best! We're often delivering food service in remote locations with limited resources and team, so some requests aren't possible - fire us an email prior to booking if you have a concern.
Q: Are non-alcoholic beverages an option?
A: Absolutely yes. We often are serving foraged iced teas, lemonades, and hot teas - and often can pair a non-alcoholic option when cocktails are on the menu, featuring the same wild ingredient.
Q: Can you include food or drinks with a private foraging walk?
A: Yes. Wild food tastings or mixology add-ons are available as flat-rate upgrades.
Camping, Pets, and Accessibility
Q: Can we camp or stay overnight on your land?
A: No. Overnight stays are not part of our offerings. Have a look online for campgrounds in Athabasca county!
Q: Can I bring my dog or other pets?
A: No. To respect the land and other guests, pets are not permitted on guided walks or at private events.
Q: Is your site accessible?
A: Our Rochester site is rustic and outdoors. Terrain includes uneven ground, forest trails, and weather exposure. Contact us to discuss accessibility needs before booking.
